Have a lie-in tomorrow, no more early-morning practice. Last minute practice can be held at any time tomorrow, (I have no classes so I'll be down at the pitch), or Saturday, (same reasoning).

[ mood | excited ]

Alright, alright, is that everything? I'm sure that's enough lights, Dylan, this looks wonderful! Martine, the food's perfect, and Finn! I love what you've done with the entrance! Caley, this was such a good idea, to have the party in the Hufflepuff Common Room...

I think everything's ready. Okay, hurry, the boys should be here any minute.

[15 Nov 2003|05:01am]

It had been a brutal, bloody game; the more the Gryffindors scored, the more violent Slytherin got, and none of the Gryffindors was beyond a little retribution. Mo had a bruise developing on her right side from the elbow of Slytherin’s Seeker, and Eirlys had a nasty cut on her forehead, which was bleeding into her eyes. Aidan was developing what looked like an impressive black eye, also a result of a Slytherin's elbow, and there were other injuries, Mo was sure, which would be discovered when the game was over and the rush had worn off.

Right now, she couldn’t even feel the bruise; she was too busy watching the Quaffle. The score was 520-380, and she was furious for letting Slytherin score at all, let alone enough times that, if they caught the Snitch, they would win. Of course, she didn't expect the Slytherin Seeker to stand a chance of beating Eirlys to the Snitch, but still, she was determined not to let them score again.

She was so intent on the Quaffle, in fact, that even when Eirlys went into a steep dive that almost certainly meant she'd seen the Snitch, Mo didn't see it. She also didn't see the Slytherin Beater flying up behind her, raising his bat over her head - and nor did she feel it when he brought it down, knocking her instantly unconscious and causing her and her broom to drop like stones.

Too excited to wait until her lesson, Martine sought out Professor Fiennes during breakfast. He led her out of the Great Hall and into a nearby side room where he explained briefly but sympathetically why it was impossible for her to commence Animagus training, now or ever.

Martine listened without comment, and when he'd finished and asked her if she was feeling alright, she nodded and murmured her thanks.

He left her there. She stood in silence for a long moment, taking in what she'd just been told. Then she left the room herself and returned to her dormitory to change into her riding outfit.

Passing very few people on the way, and not acknowledging anybody she did meet, she made her way down to the stables, got Leonato ready, and rode off in the vague direction of the Forbidden Forest.

He sighed and leaned against the fence, waiting for Martine, a square package under his left arm.

ho hum, so this is hogwarts? Bloody hell it's empty... There doesn't seem to be anyone here but me and the batty teachers. So where are you all? And what are you doing? Isn't this supposed to be a community thingy? So... you all have access to it even though you're home... right? So, tell me what I can do to amuse myself here and while away the summer hours doing something more productive than getting a tan... seeing as I can't find a piano anywhere that seems to be the only thing to do at the moment...

There's something bloody wrong with that woman. I swear. Damn stupid bitch. Eh. At least this detention was pretty mild, compared to some of the others she's handed out.

And we'll be away from her, until September.

No school. No curfew. Concerts nearly every night for a month.

*squeezes Eveline's hand lightly*

Morning in the Great Hall [19 May 2003|04:20am]

[ mood | sad ]

Beej waited til most everyone was settled in the Great Hall for breakfast, and then the nod from Steve. He stood and walked up to stand in front of the room and faced everyone.

His face was tense, and it took him a few moments before he was able to speak.

"May I have your attention, please."

He waited for everyone to quiet.

"Thank you. I'm sorry to interrupt your breakfast, and to bring this up in light of the current situation we've been dealing with, but..."

His lip quivered and he paused, turning his gaze to the enchanted ceiling to try and collect himself. It shone bright, and the sky was cloudless, signs of a beautiful day that was mocking him. He breathed deep and looked back at the students.

"Some of you are friendly with my brother, Caleb. He's asked me to inform you that he's d..." Another deep breath. "He's dying. He probably won't last through the week. For those of you who would like to visit and pay your last respects, you are more than welcome as long as you don't appologize, cry, or bring up what's coming. He'd like to see people, but he wants happy faces and laughter and smiles. I..."

Beej shook his head and stepped down, quickly walking through the Hall and out the door. Steve stood after BJ had gone.

"You are all excused from class for the day. It's been a hellish weekend. Those of you going to visit Mr. Tanner would please try not to get kicked out the Hospital Wing. Thank you." Finished, he sat down to continue his breakfast, though he seemed to be having a hard time of it.

FINALLY! [14 May 2003|10:01am]

[ mood | amused ]

"AIDAN!" Adie was yelling, as he ran down the stairs from the dorms and into the Ravenclaw common room.

Will jumped half out of his skin, then cracked up laughing when he saw his friend. "Nice nightdress, Adie. You don't fill it quite so well now..."

Adie just grinned and made a rude hand gesture as he carried on running. His voice echoed off the walls as he charged down the corridor.

[12 May 2003|08:32am]

[ mood | nervous ]

For all of her housemates seated with her at lunch, Eveline felt entirely alone. There was no one in the Hall except herself, and Adie.

She was seated near the end of the Gryffindor table, her dark hair falling loose around her new clothes. She wasn't eating; she appeared to be listening to a conversation the people beside her were having. Perfect. That way Eveline wouldn't really be interrupting anything when she went over there--

If. She felt cold and nervous inside again. She'd skipped breakfast to avoid this, but she couldn't do it any longer. If she waited much more, she would run out of courage altogether.

Would that be such a bad thing?

She took a deep breath and stood up, not saying a word to her housemates about where she was going. She had intended to leave the Hall and return to her dorm room, to calm down again before her afternoon class. But as she stood and turned towards the door, and not the Gryffindor table, she caught a sudden glare. Aileen Foster was scowling at her, and it stopped Eveline in her tracks.

'Oh, hell.' Steeling herself, she walked quickly to the Gryffindor table, to Adie McCormack.

Jesus Christ, this school is like a fucking crèche... [12 May 2003|02:47am]

[ mood | irritated ]

Okay, there's such a thing as 'too fucking far', she thought to herself, irritably. The library door crashed back against the wall as she entered the room, prompting outraged tuts and mutters from the librarian (which, of course, she ignored).

Williams was indeed there, as Aileen had suspected, alone at a table with a book and a stack of parchment, although she wasn't working. She was just sitting there, looking lost and forlorn and, well, pretty fucking pathetic.

Aileen sat in the chair opposite her. "Williams."

Eveline looked up. "Mmm?"

"I made that potion so we'd get rid of some of these stupid fucking hormones. You're absolutely pathetic. You can tell me it's none of my business if you like, and I'm sure you will because you obviously know so much better than I do, sitting here all alone with your eyes all bloodshot and salt-burned, but I'm going to say it anyway and you will listen." She leaned forward slightly. "You're miserable when he's not around, and he's miserable when you're not around. You love him and he loves you. Now tell me where your fucking problem is."

Problems. [07 May 2003|02:54am]

[ mood | confused ]

They'd been drinking. That much he could remember. Firewhiskey. About half a bottle each. They'd been brought up well, taught to share... somebody was nice enough to send them a bottle of whiskey, and so of course they felt obliged to drink it. You can't just ignore presents, can you? Especially 'whiskey that's been wrapped up so nicely.

He could remember feeling that familiar lightheadedness, remembered being dizzy, slightly unsteady on his three-inch heels, rather giggly... they'd fallen into bed feeling strangely accomplished, as they always did after finishing 'whiskey bottles (it's a Boy Thing). Eveline had been with them (Dylan and Finn were already in Dylan's bed, judging by the tightly-locked look of the curtains), by turns laughing and rolling her eyes at them, and she'd climbed into bed with Adie, wearing that old pair of pyjamas she seemed to have claimed for her own. He was too warm, so he was just wearing shorts. That he could remember, too.

He woke up in the early hours of the morning with a gentle ache in his bladder. That was normal. Only natural to need a piss after that much drinking, aye?

So he sat up in bed, and threw back the covers so he could get up. The moonlight was streaming in through the window, across Aidan's pillow...

...more precisely, across the face of a pretty blonde girl who was sleeping in Aidan's bed.

Not J.

Somebody Else. This he could not remember.

The technical term for this sort of reaction is 'What the fuck?' although Adie preferred to Silently Gape.

He threw a pillow at her.

"Oi!" he whispered, loudly. "Who the hell are you?"
